OIL CHANGE

Having your vehicle's oil changed regularly is an important part of regular maintenance. Regularly scheduled oil change can keep your car running smoothly and its engine working properly. While often one of the most easily and frequently overlooked actions in your car’s maintenance, a routine oil change is a key piece to keeping your vehicle running well. A basic oil change, which consists of the draining of the old, contaminated oil from your car, replacing the oil filter, and adding new clean oil.

VEHICLE MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

Cars that last over a decade have one thing in common: preventive maintenance.

Throughout the life of your vehicle, the manufacturer expects you to visit an automotive service center for factory scheduled maintenance. This includes common services like oil changes and tire rotations, as well as component inspections at certain mileage intervals. You may also need to replace certain system parts, like brake pads and rotors, as identified in your owner's manual.

Following your maintenance schedule not only helps you get the longest life from your vehicle, it also keeps your car or truck covered under the factory warranty and extended warranties.

Brakes, Shocks & Struts

Brake system in your car or truck plays a vital role in keeping your passengers and you safe. The components in the automotive brake system are not designed to last for the life of your vehicle and wear down over time. Some common indications of brake problems may include the appearance of the brake warning light in your dashboard, brake fluid that is either low or dirty, grinding noises, a "spongy" feeling when depressing your brake pad.

Our technicians are trained and certified to service all types of front and rear brake systems. One of our trained car mechanics will provide you with a thorough brake inspection at our service center to make certain both your front and rear brakes are working properly.

Tune Ups

During a tune-up, our service staff will check your spark plugs, which are responsible for igniting the gasoline and air mixture that fuels your engine. We can also check your spark plug wires, which transfer voltage created by your spark plug. Old wires can burn out and cause a misfire. We will check the condition of your fuel filters, which help stop debris from reaching your engine. A clogged fuel filter will lead to poor acceleration and poor engine performance. Similarly, we can look at your air filter, which prevents debris from entering the combustion engine. Restricted airflow makes your engine work harder and causes your vehicle to lose horsepower. During our tune-up, we can ensure optimal performance of these parts and more.

Timing Belt and Water Pump

The timing belt essentially connects the bottom half of your engine to the top half, driving the camshafts which open the valves at precisely the right moment. In the majority of cars, the timing belt drives the water pump, which replacing can become very pricey. Issues with the timing belt can also cause major internal engine problems and even engine failure, which just adds more and more to the necessary services. Any amount of slack causes a decrease in performance, and in most cases, a broken timing belt will cost you an engine, or at least an expensive repair. If it’s time to replace your timing belt have one of our expert mechanics at Central Auto Service will take a look.
